Obituary of Jose Sanchez

On July 11, 2021 we lost a father, grandfather and friend. Jose Sanchez was born on October 12, 1923 to Cristano Sanchez and Lucia Rojas in Puerto Colombia, Colombia. He immigrated to the United States in 1973 and loved his new home country the minute he arrived. He was very creative: he enjoyed sewing and created many decorative things from ordinary objects. He loved to dance, sing, and attend spiritual services. He always had a smile or hug for anyone he passed along the way at Preakness Healthcare Center, where he was often referred to as "Papi" and loved as his home. He loved showing off his room and telling stories of his life to anyone that stopped by to visit him. He departed to the Lord's arms surrounded by his loving family. In lieu of flowers, please donate the Preakness Hospital Auxiliary or to your favorite charity.
