Obituary of Sean A. Scillieri
It is with such sadness that we are announcing the passing of Sean A. Scillieri. Sean passed away on Saturday, February 20. Sean was born in Ridgewood and was a lifelong Hawthorne resident. He was 33 years old. He was the proud Chief Operation Officer for Riverside Home Improvements, a business he built alongside his brother TJ. Sean’s “happy place” was Molokai, Hawaii, where he loved to scuba dive (PADI Advanced open water certification), and also moving forward to getting his rescue certification. He hunted there, swam and generally enjoyed the Hawaiian life with his family there. Sean loved to play golf, where his creative scoring often placed him neck to neck with his PGA professional brother! To know Sean, was to be loved by him. For those who knew him well, you knew his motto was “Go big or go home” - he LIVED his life in such a large way. Everything about him was big! His hugs, his generosity, his kindness & understanding. He always had a smile on his face and loved life and especially loved his beloved Ana, his family-His Mom, TJ and Ryan. To quote Ryan “he was the best Uncle ever”! Sean was just one of those people that lit up a room. We know he is in a good place with God and believe we will see him again. We know he will be back here in little ways - things will remind you of him - so if there is a moment where you think you feel him around you - that WILL be him. He has gone before us at such a young age into a new paradise - heaven - a “new” Hawaii. And he will be there to greet all of us when we get there.
Sean was preceded in death by his grandfather, Stephen J. Scillieri, his father, Stephen A. Scillieri, his grandfather Dr. Felix Jurewicz and his grandmother, Dorothy Jurewicz. He is survived by his fiancée Ana Nuiver, his mother Joellen (Jurewicz) Scillieri, his grandmother Jane (Dwyer) Scillieri, his brother Stephen “TJ” Scillieri and his nephew who he loved more than anything - Ryan Cooper.
We would like to add this from John 14-24: “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: Not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”
