Obituary of Emilio Verrone
Emilio Verrone, 81 of North Haledon, NJ passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018. Emilio was born in Case del Conte, Italy and came to America in April, 1955. He settled in the Riverside section of Paterson, NJ and moved to North Haledon in 1978. Devoted son of the late Angelo and Filomena Verrone.
He met his wife Grace (Bella) Verrone while they were both members of the same bridal party. They were married for 54 years.
He ran the cutting room at Exacta, LLC in Bloomfiled, NJ and had previously worked at David Crystal which later became Izod in Newark, NJ for over 20 years and retired in 2013. He was a member of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union and also was a parishioner of St. Paul's R.C. Church in Prospect Park, NJ.
He loved Soccer and played in Italy and continued to play in America for the Santa Croce Club. He enjoyed coaching youth soccer in North Haledon and loved watching his son play the game. He was an avid bowler and was one of the original members of the "5 V's" Bowling Team. He loved his garden and was very proud of it.
He was truly a great husband, father and grandfather. He will be missed.
He is survived by his wife Grace, his daughter, Rosanna and her husband Ross Morse of Hawthorne, NJ and his son, Robert Verrone of Short Hills, NJ. He is also survived by his two brothers, Anthony and Nicholas Verrone and his seven grandchildren, Eric, Alexandra, Ryan, Matthew, Daniel, Annie and Joey.
VIsiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at St. Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
