Obituary of Zelma K. Melendez

Zelma K. Melendez, age 83, of Paterson died Friday, November 4, 2016. Zelma was born February 20, 1933 in Petersburg, VA. She is the daughter of the late Ichabod and the late Goldie (Robertson) Robertson. She has lived in Paterson for the past 66 years. She was employed by Paterson Board Of Education, Paterson, NJ as a Instructional Assistant for thirty years and retired in 2006. She also was a member of the Passaic Education Association and was a representative of the Paterson Chapter. She is survived by three daughters, Theresa Melendez of Paterson, NJ, Gladys Melendez of Paterson, NJ Nelida Steverson of Manahakin, NJ and one son: Jorge Melendez of Lake Worth, FL. She is also survived by her sister Constance Garcia, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren and three; great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by her husband, Jorge Melendez and her son, Alonso Robertson. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, November 12 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Burial will be in Fair Lawn Memorial Cemetery, Fair Lawn, NJ.
