Obituary of Angelo C. Fazio

Angelo C. Fazio, age 99, of Haledon died Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Inglemoor Rehabilitation And Care Center in Livingston, NJ. Angelo was born November 4, 1916 in Hoboken, NJ . He is the son of the late Rosario and the late Frances (Pellegrino) Fazio. He resided in Haledon most of his life. He worked at the Paterson Evening News for 43 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He was a Tank Loader in the 610 Battalion, He fought in the Battle of The Bulge and in other areas of France and Central Europe. He was a recipient of the American Theater Ribbon, the European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged on December 10, 1945 with the rank of Sergeant. Hs favorite pastimes were gardening and shopping. He is survived by his daughter: Maria Fazio Zanakis of Livingston, NJ and his granddaughters: Melanie, Marlena and Mariana. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie Fazio (nee Natale) and his brothers, Charles Fazio, Thomas Fazio, Nunzio Fazzio and Edward Fazio. The funeral will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, June 18 at DeLuccia - Lozito Funeral Home, 265 Belmont Avenue, Haledon, NJ. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa, NJ.
