Dear Liz and entire Barnet family,
My heart is very heavy today knowing I will never be able to confide in Dr. Barnet again. He was an extraordinary man and physician. Always ready to listen and help his patients above and beyond. My deepest, deepest sympathy goes out to all of you at this time. The world has lost one of a kind never to be duplicated. I'm sure your memories of him as a husband, father, and grandfather may help you through this time. He will never be forgotten by all of us patients. He was our hero.
Fondly,
Ellen Varcardipone39r

Dr Barnet saved my life 31 years ago this coming June. I had been sick for more than a year and gone to doctors, specialist, even the Lahey Clinic for a week of testing. Kept getting worse. Someone told me about Dr. Barnet and he agreed to see me. Before I got there, he had an idea of what was wrong with me just by reviewing faxes from the Lahey Clinic, and he was right!! Two weeks later I was feeling much much better. I was only a few weeks from death he said.
A brilliant mind he had, and a heart for everyone.
He also cared for my, wife, my father and mother in law for many years, with tremendous care and compassion.
We cried over here when we heard the news.

Larry was a great physician, friend, co-worker, "family doc", and many more things...his healing skills were beyond compare. The obituary left out the fact that he cared for many priests and bishops in the diocese. He, and his family, will be remembered in my prayers, and at Mass.

I'd like to Thank God for Dr Barnet and the opportunity I had to know him and interact with him for so many years. He was the head doc for most of the residents I had under my care in DPD for a long time. I loved, admired and respected him greatly as a doctor and as a person, because of the undivited dedication and care he provided to each of our residents and the staff that accompanied them. I've interacted w/ many doc in my personal and working life, but no one comes to Dr. Barnet's high standard of care & humility. I remember how he would get on the phone himself when a resident needed immediate follow-up test and secure an appointment. He understood how group homes operated and always met us half way in fascilitating whatever need or accomondation was needed for the resident. He was an outstanding Advocate and Liaison for our people. Always curteous, pleasant, even tempered, hardworker, thorough in his assessments and care and always answered our calls. Society's lost a GREAT man!

To Liz and Dr. Barnet's Family:
It was very sad to hear the news of Dr. Barnet's passing. He has been in my thoughts over the last year during his illness. Having just read his obituary, I realize now how he lived a life of humility and compassion. I always had great admiration for his ability to go above and beyond in his work.
He was blessed in a very special way. He was my inspiration in my work, but I have never been able to measure up to how he cared for so many. I can never give enough thanks for his gift.
I often saw Dr. Barnet as the Mother Theresa of the Paterson area. I feel very blessed to have had him as my doctor over the past many years and grateful for the care he showed my mother these last few years.
He was very special and a gift to human kind.

We were patients of Doc for over 18 years along with members of our family. He was wonderful when my mom died of cancer in St. Joe's. I am not sure my husband would be here if not for him, especially after he had his heart attack in Atlantic City, and was so far away. He was right there on the phone late at night with the ER doctors, and reassuring us and kept in touch while he was there. He had the best demeanor, for keeping jittery patients like me calm. We are devastated over his loss and will miss him greatly, as we will never find another doctor to fill his shoes. We totally trusted him. Our deepest sympathy to all his family and Liz. Thank you Doc and rest in peace.
